Georgia CORE Elects New Board Members; Curran and Simone Address Georgia CORE's Annual Meeting

Howard Zaren, MD, Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion, St.Jospeh's/Candler in Savannah and Patti Owen, MN, RN, Northside Hospital in Atlanta were elected as new memebrs of the Georgia CORE Board of Directors. Both are leaders of National Cancer Institute National Communnity Cancer Centers Programs (NCCCP). At the annual meeting of the Georgia CORE Borad of Directors Walter T. Curran, MD provided an update on Winship Cancer Institute, Georgia's only NCI-designated cancer center. Joseph V. Simone, MD gave a presentation on the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) of ASCO.
