Phoebe Cancer Center leader named co-chair of national advocacy group

Ursula Mathis-Dennis, the director of quality, comprehensive programs and services for Phoebe Putney Health System’s Oncology Service Line, has been named the co-chair of the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology (GASCO) Administrators’ Association for the 2024-2026 term.

Mathis-Dennis’s extensive experience and commitment to GASCO, where she has served as an active member for several years, make her a deserving choice for this prestigious position, officials with the organization said.

“GASCO plays a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of oncology care in our state, and I am deeply honored to accept the role of co-chair for the 2024-2026 term,” she said. “My years of service on the board have shown me the incredible impact that GASCO has on the delivery of cancer care in Georgia. This appointment reflects not only my commitment to advancing oncology care but also the dedication of the entire Phoebe Cancer Center team to serving the needs of cancer patients throughout southwest Georgia.”
