Connecting the B.R.I.D.G.E BReast cancer Investigations of Disparities of GEorgia
B.R.I.D.G.E

Join us Tuesday May 17th (6:00-8:00pm) for an engaged community conversation on the experiences faced by Black women throughout the breast cancer journey. Experience and share stories of resolve, resilience, and recovery as we generate new insights for future research efforts.

Details

This online community forum is centered around disseminating and discussing the research that the BRIDGE research team (led by Dr. Lauren McCullough) has discovered in investigating the drivers of race mortality disparities in Georgia.

Through this event, we are aiming to:

  • Present the ongoing data findings from the BRIDGE research team
  • Discuss the research in small groups, developing an understanding of the personal, social, and structural factors that contribute to an individual’s experiences throughout the breast cancer journey.
  • Collectively, we will discuss the action steps that BRIDGE can translate into our future research work, in making sure that our community’s needs take priority.

We hope to engage with as many community stakeholders as possible, including:

  • Active breast cancer patients
  • Breast cancer survivors
  • Family members
  • Caregivers
  • Community advocates
  • Health care providers
  • Public health researchers
