In an effort to give you the best possible service, we would be grateful if you could take a few minutes of your time to answer a few questions.
In the medical arena, challenging conversations are an everyday occurrence. Medical professionals are charged with delivering bad news to patients and their families clearly and succinctly, while holding space for the fear, worry and distress that can come with this news and maintaining both emotional calm and patient rapport. It can be an overwhelming task. However, there are tools available that can help clinicians manage their own emotions while offering empathy and support to their patients, family members and even colleagues. The George Washington Cancer Center invites you to attend the following webinar on bringing physical and emotional presence to the challenging patient encounters faced by medical professionals every day.
During this webinar you will:
· Learn about the physiological responses that are occurring in providers and patients during these conversations.
· Identify strategies to remain calm and diffuse highly emotional interactions with patients and caregivers.
· Identify strategies to best communicate challenging news to patients and caregivers.
