Michael Baxter

President, Versal Communications

Michael Baxter helps Georgia CORE tell its story in a wide range of communications. For nearly 20 years, he has played a key role in defining and presenting Georgia CORE’s impact and value – both in narrative and through visual communication.

As principal of Versal, a Decatur, Ga.-based creative firm, Michael helps nonprofit organizations, public policy groups and companies communicate more effectively. Similar to Georgia CORE, he has worked with the Georgia Research Alliance, Medical College of Georgia (at Augusta University) and the Georgia Cancer Coalition, the precursor to Georgia CORE.

Michael also served as the first communications director for the CDC Foundation, where he launched a communication program to engage key constituent groups in the vital work of CDC scientists. As principal of a Decatur, Ga.-based creative firm, Michael helps nonprofit organizations, public policy groups and companies communicate more effectively. Similar to Georgia CORE, he has worked with the Georgia Research Alliance, Emory Winship Cancer Center and the Georgia Cancer Coalition, and he brings 26 years of experience in the education, nonprofit and private sectors. Michael also served as the first communications director for the CDC Foundation, where he launched a communication program to engage target constituent groups in the vital work of CDC scientists.
