Research Data Quality Analyst

Kaylan Dixon serves Georgia CORE as the Research Data Quality Analyst, supporting the state's hub for the National Cancer Institute's National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). She leads site feasibility assessment across the Georgia NCORP network and directs the CORE Research Fundamentals Training Program, building the curriculum and resources that prepare the next generation of clinical research professionals. When she's not advancing access to clinical research across Georgia, Kaylan enjoys weightlifting and spending time with her son.

Kaylan's path into oncology research was anything but linear. She arrived at college certain she would become a radiologist, discovered it was not the right fit, tried nursing and found the same, then stumbled almost by accident into exercise science. She was not much of an exerciser at the time, but she knew she wanted to stay in medicine, and the plan was a gap year followed by physician assistant school. During that gap year, an oncologist she knew at Emory's Winship Cancer Institute needed help in regulatory. With zero knowledge of regulatory, clinical trial, no cancer research, Curiosity did the rest. That temporary detour became a career that marks its tenth year in 2026.

With nearly a decade of experience in oncology clinical research, Kaylan specializes in oncology clinical trials, with deep expertise in cooperative group trial infrastructure, protocol and regulatory management, IRB workflows, and GCP compliance. She has served as a clinical research project manager, coordinating trials across multi-site networks and overseeing monitoring, data quality, and site operations. What has kept her in the field is simple: she always wanted to help people medically, and too many patients still do not know clinical trials exist or cannot access them. Closing that gap is the work.

Kaylan holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Kennesaw State University.
