Holistic Leadership: Championing Wellness and Modeling Self-Care for Your Team

“Your vision is sometimes seen through your actions. As leaders, it's our responsibility to give our teams the experience of that vision by our work each day.” ? Janna Cachola

“If I put others first, I will never find myself being last.”? Craig D. Lounsbrough

“In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute.” – Thurgood Marshall, first African American on the U.S. Supreme Court

This workshop will focus on helping public health leaders and managers develop the tools needed to successfully support their staff by prioritizing their mutual wellness. The pandemic has dramatically altered how many of us work and has brought increased attention to work-life balance issues. By approaching wellness from a holistic perspective, participants will leave with actionable items to develop a more supportive culture within their scope of influence. This class will teach them how to encourage diversity and inclusion, have open dialogue about issues that cause burnout and decrease staff morale, and help them identify stressors early before they develop into larger problems. When leaders invest in the overall well-being of staff and model the practice of self-care, organizations become stronger and better positioned to recruit, retain and maximize performance of top talent.
