Georgia CORE presents, Survivorship and Massage Therapy. Cara Thurman of Vinings Massage & Wellness will discuss the benefits of massage therapy for cancer survivors, considerations to ensure a healthy and safe experience and how to physically self-soothe at home.

Cara Thurman is the owner of  Vinings Massage and Wellness.

A note from Cara:

After working as a massage therapist for a few years, I founded Vinings Massage and Wellness (VMW) in 2012. Our center is located in the heart of Vinings, in Northwest Atlanta. VMW is proud to specialize in working with people experiencing cancer and chronic illness and/or pain. We also perform pre-and post-natal massage, along with massage for anxiety, stress, and pain
relief. In addition to the massage services we provide at our center, VMW partners with some of Atlanta’s largest healthcare systems. We work with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, running their employee massage program. We also run patient-facing programs at Piedmont Fayetteville, where we partner with their oncology and palliative care teams, working with patients in active treatment both in their infusion centers and in their inpatient rooms.

Providing the space and support for people to create wellness in their lives, as well as a place for individual practitioners to thrive has become my passion. I love doing all types of massage and specialize in working with people experiencing cancer and chronic illness/pain. I also perform Pre- and Post-natal Massage, along with massage for anxiety, stress, and pain relief.
