On Tuesday, October 6, Chairwoman and Senator Renee Unterman hosted a Women's Adequate Health Care Senate Study Committee at the GRU Summerville Campus. Along with David McIntosh, MD, Georgia OBGyn Society and Sharad Ghamande, MD, GRU, President Nancy Paris and Vice President Angie Patterson sat on an oncology panel to discuss women's cancers, incidence and cancer treatment costs. They also presented "Improving Quality of CARE for Patients and Quality of LIFE for Survivors." Presentations on an aging population panel and chronic diseases and preventative health concluded the meeting.
The AJC covers Georgia CORE's unique colon cancer awareness campaign, Weird Looking Stools, helping to raise awareness to look for the signs and symptoms of colon cancer.
