Nancy Paris to speak along with Gov. Barnes at ACS breakfast

3/05/2013

On March 14, Georgia CORE president and CEO Nancy Paris will join three other speakers including former Governor Roy Barnes at the annual Georgia Research Breakfast of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. The Cancer Action Network is the non-partisan advocacy affiliate of ACS. "The 2013 ACS CAN Georgia Research Breakfast will bring members of the corporate, medical and scientific communities together with legislators to inform and discuss the critical importance of cancer research and its impact on our health and economy," said Paris. Governor Barnes will keynote the event. "Thankfully, many entities have joined the fight against cancer in Georgia since we launched a statewide focus on research," said Governor Barnes. "The vast network that Georgia CORE has built is invaluable in that it marshals all of the cancer-focused efforts into a single force, enabling our state to be as effective as possible in providing quality care for our patients, while also helping to find a cure." To be held at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, registration information for the event is available on the ACS CAN web site.
