Georgia CORE introduces a resource guide for barriers to cancer clinical trials

1/14/2025, Georgia CORE

Launched in 2024, the Georgia Cancer Trial Finder is a piloted education and awareness effort to help more Georgians find their way to cancer clinical trials in our state. (Read more about the program.) In addition, through the program, Georgia CORE seeks to assist patients to overcome barriers in accessing those trials. To that end, we have created the Cancer Trial Finder Resource Guide for clinical sites and trial participants to help them navigate some common barriers to clinical trial participation. Most of its development is thanks to our outgoing intern, Deborah Harvey, (right), an MPH student at Emory University with a background in nursing, healthcare consulting, and clinical research.

While completing her graduate school practicum at Georgia CORE, she worked on several projects, including identifying and reviewing eligibility criteria for clinical trial referrals and developing the resource guide.

We invite you to download and share it, and please let us know if there is anything we should add to it.
