Emory Saint Joseph's names new CEO

Heather Dexter will take the reins Oct. 23 as the new CEO of Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital.

Since 2011, Dexter has served as chief operating officer of the hospital. She started working there in 1998 as an administrative resident and climbed the ranks. Her other roles at Emory Saint Joseph's include interim director of both Human Resources and Radiology, division director of Clinical Services, vice president of Planning, Development and Allied Health and vice president of Surgical Services and Planning.

Dexter also served as executive project manager during the Joint Operating Company process between Saint Joseph's Hospital and Emory Healthcare.
